How can I make a reservation at Maaemo?
Reservations can only be made via our website www.maaemo.no or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. If the day you are interested in is booked it is also possible to add yourself to our waiting list online by clicking on your desired date. We receive cancellations daily and if a table becomes available we will contact you in advance to confirm your table. We receive many requests for tables of 2 guests, and as we only have a limited number of these tables there is generally more chance to secure a table for parties of 4 or more. Please note that we are unfortunately unable to take reservations over the phone.
How far in advance can i make a booking?
Each day at midnight (CET) we open reservations online for 90 days in advance.
I have a question about an existing reservation.

Will I receive any other communications regarding my reservation?
Yes. Once you have made a reservation you will receive a confirmation email. One week prior to your reservation you will receive a reconfirmation email, where you can click on a link to reconfirm your table. It is essential that you reconfirm your reservation in order for you to secure your table. Please note that not reconfirming your table does not mean that your reservation will be cancelled.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations can only be made via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. For tables of up to 4 guests cancellations can be made up to 48 hours before the date of your reservation. For tables of 5 or more guests, cancellations can be made up to 4 days before the date of your reservation.
If you wish to cancel with less notice than stated above and we are unable to take another reservation for your table then we reserve the right to charge a late cancellation fee of NOK 2.600 per guest. If you make a reservation but do not arrive at the restaurant then we also reserve the right to charge a no-show fee of NOK 2.600 per guest.
How can I make a booking for a large group?
As were are a small restaurant with 8 tables, the largest table we have seats a maximum of 10 guests. Unfortunately we are unable to take large groups above this size. For private events and enquiries about closed events at the restaurant please email us at email@example.com.
When are you open?
We are open for dinner from 6pm on Wednesday – Thursday and from 7pm on Friday – Saturday. We also offer lunch on Fridays and Saturdays from 12.00. Our latest seating for dinner on Tuesday – Thursday is 7:30pm, and 8:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The latest seating for lunch is 12:45pm.
How do I find you?
Maaemo is located at Schweigaardsgate 15B in Oslo. We can be found at the top of the large staircase in Anette Thomsens square just opposite the Oslo Central Bus Terminal. The staircase connects Schweigaardsgate with the Bjørvika high-rise buildings.
Parking is available at the public car park accessed from Tøyenbekken and we are just a short walk away from Oslo Central Station.
What is the menu?
At Maaemo we have chosen to offer just one distinct and considered set menu to all guests for lunch and dinner. Our menu is constantly changing with the seasons and comprises of around 20 separate servings with optional wine or juice pairings available.
Can you accommodate allergies or other dietary restrictions?
We can usually cater for most health or allergy related dietary requests with prior notice. We would ask that you advise us of dietary requests via email at firstname.lastname@example.org so advance notice can be given to the kitchen.
Do you have a dress code?
Even though Maaemo is a formal restaurant we have a relaxed atmosphere and as such we have no specific dress code. However we encourage our guests to dress smart-casual; a jacket for men is not required.
How long should we allow to fully enjoy the experience?
Our tasting menu is a carefully planned series of around 20 dishes, and we advise you to allow about 4 hours to enjoy it comfortably.
What happens if I am running late?
We kindly ask that guests arrive at the booked reservation time. Please note that arriving more than ten minutes late may result in missing part of your experience.
Do you accept credit cards?
We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Please note that we are only able to accept cash payment in Norwegian Kroner.
How do I purchase a gift card for someone?
We are able to sell gift cards for any amount that can be used at Maaemo within one year. Gift cards can be purchased from our web shop.
Are children allowed in the restaurant?
Children are welcome at Maaemo, although as we are a small restaurant, we do not have the floor space to accommodate pushchairs or bassinets. We do not have a children’s menu available and all children will be required to have the same menu as the adults at the restaurant, as such we do not recommend our menu for children under the age of 10.
Do you have access for wheelchairs?
Yes, we have step-free access for wheelchairs in the restaurant, and bathroom facilities for wheelchair users. Please advise us of your needs in advance by emailing us at email@example.com so we can assign the most suitable table.
